GRAND
PRIZE WINNER | ||
Bill Davidson - peep | ||
http://www.credo-interactive.com/ Peep is not the most mature avatar you'll ever meet. In fact, peep tends to be a bit rude. We are currently trying to teach Peep how to behave properly and, well, like I said, we're trying! Peep consists of 790 polygons(plus 2!). Peep was modelled in 3dmax and animated in Lifeforms. Bill has graciously
donated his Grand Prize of Life Forms to the Grand Prize Runner-Up :)

Einstein
BLAXXUN Albert if he'd lived in the 60's
As far as design goes, we prefer an aesthetic which is more visual than hyper real, if you know what I mean! So the Einstein avatar is more of a characature than a pure realistic figure, for example. The styles, colours, movements are exaggerated to create a more exciting and visual experience in the virtual world, where usually the avatar size is quite small on the screen real estate.

http://www.homestead.com/if/memim1.html This seahorse is very low vert and very low
poly as far as avs go. so it should go in the Best bang for the buck
category. It can be viewed in AW world

http://home.t-online.de/home/kiwano4/ Nemisis is a female avatar who can handle
herself very well in cyberspace. She is VRML, h-anim 1.0 compliant and
looks her best/worst in Cosmo 1.2. Use the HUD controlls to see the animations:-
walking, smoking and turning into a vampire and back to a human
again. She is eager to meet
the oversexed jerks one tents to meet in 3D chat areas from time to time -
just for a quick drink you understand :) |
Gandalf is an example of character creation
using a variety of multimedia. I used a new vrml animation tool from
parallel graphics that I would recommend to anyone! Gandalf was placed
into his own scene to show example of a dream-like effect achieved by
distorting the field of view. I feel that vrml characters have more impact
when their environment is considered |
