We are a special interest group of the Contact Consortium built around a common interest in the sociological and anthropological aspects of virtual worlds. Members include both academics and world designers. This group provides an opportunity to discuss current research, issues, methodology and other matters related to the study of virtual environments and avatars. We have an email discussion list and hold periodic online reading groups. Disciplinary boundaries are loosely defined so those from all related fields are welcome!
